A Dangerous Method
David Cronenberg continues his exploration of the human psyche with this account of the friendship between Freud (Viggo Mortensen) and Jung (Michael Fassbender), which becomes increasingly strained following the latter’s illicit relationship with a patient (Keira Knightley). A far cry from the the body horror of his earlier work, Cronenberg’s film of Christopher Hampton’s stage play (adapted for the screen by the playwright) is a restrained and sophisticated study of morality and the mind.
