Billie, a wannabe singer named after the legendary jazz chanteuse, finds her life upended when Adam, her alcoholic father, is arrested and admitted to rehab. She is sent, along with younger sibling Nico, to live with Eve, their mother, who absconded some time back and now lives with the abusive Beaux. When he makes suggestive advances to Billie, the teen decides enough is enough. She takes Nico and new-found friend Malik on a road trip to find their father.
