Mia Hansen-Løve’s delicate take on the travails of first love. Charting a relationship over ten years, the film follows Camille (a superb Lola Créton, ‘Bluebeard’) as she moves from the ecstasy of youthful passion, through heartbreak to maturity and finding her place in the world. A markedly different, but no less impressive, film to her previous feature, ‘Father of My Children’, it cements Hansen-Løve’s position as one of France’s most impressive filmmakers.
