‘Le Week-end’ is the exuberant Paris-set romantic comedy starring Jim Broadbent, Lindsay Duncan and Jeff Goldblum.
The third feature collaboration between Roger Michell (‘Enduring Love’, ‘Notting Hill’) and writer Hanif Kureishi, ‘Le Week-end’ sees long-married couple Nick and Meg spend their wedding anniversary in Paris. However, the romantic city soon becomes a backdrop to bitter disputes over the state of their lives.
Kureishi’s wonderful script and the excellent performances help balance the tone between comedy and drama, while Michell celebrates the city’s rich cinematic heritage.
