The Youth America Grand Prix is one of the country’s most prestigious annual ballet competitions, whose entrants stand a chance of winning scholarships and future roles at prestigious dance companies. Bess Kargman’s documentary follows six aspiring dancers, including children originally from Colombia and Sierra Leone. All aged between 14 and 17, we watch as they prepare relentlessly for their moment in front of judges who could change their lives.
