Vivien Leigh’s gift for comedy is showcased in this Scottish-set romance co-starring Rex Harrison. Harrison plays rambunctious London journalist Frank Burdon, who works for a small Scottish newspaper and writes a story about the dubious activities of the town’s mayor. Incensed that his affairs are being investigated, the official decides to go after Burdon. Matters are complicated by the journalist’s affection for the mayor’s spirited daughter, played by Leigh.
